Intermittent Heater

New problem. Heater works some trips and sometimes doesn't. It make blow at first cold start, or not. It may begin blowing a few miles down the road, or not. It may work all day and then be turned off to shop, then not function on restart. Is this the sign of a motor going out or a faulty switch?

Yes, on the van. I haven't ruled out bumping or moving something while working on the back 3 plugs.

Re: Intermittent Heater

Sounds like a motor going south. When it happens to stop on the bad spot on the armature, the motor won't turn and it won't blow. Of course, with all the trouble you've had, it could be anything.

Wink Re: Intermittent Heater

Hi... Had the same problem and it ended up being the motor was shot... bit of a P.I.T.A (pain in the ass) to replace as it is up under the dash(on my 97lumi) behind the glovebox and the back screw is a bit hard to get to... but I'd bet thats the problem good luck

Re: Intermittent Heater

Thanks guys, I kinda figured this was the case. The dash and console in my van come apart relatively easy. Getting quite a list on this vehicle. Mechanics first comfort second.
