Im getting Castrol Syntec 5W-30 in my Neon DOHC tomorrow. Is this a good oil?

I think it's good oil. It's not a true synthetic oil though. Just stay away from synthetic blends.

das is right, its a category 3 oil which is basically a really pure petrolium oil. Mobil 1 is a true synthetic oil. Syntec is a good oil, but i think Mobil 1 is the better oil.

I do think it's a hydrocracked category III oil that why they can "legally" say that its synthetic.

Mobil 1 is the best oil out there in my opinion. But as long as you change the oil and filter every 3000-4000 miles, the wear in the oil seems to be the same. The difference is engine wear, Mobil 1 is far superior from what I have seen.
