What is Iran Smoking?

Crazy President, actively trying to develop nuclear weapons, and now dictating to the British to get out of southern Iraq. What will they think of or do next?

Whoever is doing the bombings in southern Iran should keep up the good work. It is about time the Iranians got a taste of their own medicine.


"The Islamic Republic of Iran demands the immediate withdrawal of British forces from Basra," Manouchehr Mottaki told reporters through an interpreter during a visit to Lebanon.

"We believe that the presence of the British military forces in Basra has led to the destabilization of the security situation in the city," he said.

Mottaki also said the British presence had also negatively affected the security situation in southern Iran itself.

He was apparently referring to a spate of recent bomb attacks in southern Iran.

I think Tony Blair has it right: Iran is trying to divert attention from what is going on with the investigation. There's just no reason for (and many many reason against) the British making any sort of foray into Iran.

I believe that Iran wants the southern part of Iraq just like Ayotallah Khomeni because of the Shi'a population. This is one of the reasons that im totally against any shi'a gov't in Iraq takin high offices.

That's quite possible. I believe the entire region could easily be carved up into smaller countries based on ethnic and religious boundaries. However IMO they would still be at war, even then, over resources, ocean access, or boundaries.

You raise a good point. When I was stationed in the Middle East all of my Arab and Muslim friends were Sunni. I was there during the Iran/Iraq war.

Sounds like the whole region has been destabilized.

Just enough to get by. Good to know just in case I ever go back to the Middle East. However, hopefully not too soon or at least until the dust settles.The Arabs I know do not like Iranians and definitely have differing views.
