i have a 95 grand cherokee laredo..i have the i6....i had recently discovered that i had an exhaust leak..i was not sure where it was coming from...also there was a rattle to it...i knew that i had needed a new muffler and tailpipe..i had the muffler and tailpipe changed and that fixed the rattle and cleared up the sound..but when i had it looked at i was informed that my exhaust leak was coming from a cracked manifold..sopposedly this is a common problem in jeeps...does anyone know anything about this problem?

Re: exhaust leak
Yes it is a very common problem with the 4.0L exhaust manifold. You can have the crack welded, or search eBay they have many many manifolds for the 4.0L engines.

Re: exhaust leak
If it a small leak and you dont want to get it welded, you can get some exhaust cement and put it on. I had a small hole after my cat converter, and i put some over it and it works fine.

Re: exhaust leak
I found several leaks in my manifold, just wait tell the exhaust is cold and put a shop vac in reverse up the tail pipe then run your hand along the manifold and feel for air. I think a blowdryer would also work.
