New Noise

1991 Chevy S-10 Blazer 4.3L 4x4 4Dr

A scraping noise just started yesterday on the right front while driving. My first thought was rotor out of round. The noise has a rhythm to it. Pads are ok and the dust shield is not rubbing the rotor. Only notice it at low speeds. Any advice as to the possible cause is appreciated! Thanks!

Re: New Noise

Possible front Hub Bearing, Does the noise change tune or go away when you turn the wheel left or right, if it does then your bearing is going bye bye...

Re: New Noise

I first noticed the noise going straight down the road. Also can hear it while cornering at low speeds. Funny that you mentioned the wheel bearing, I just replaced the right rear. Now the noise is the right front.

Re: New Noise

If I remember correctly, the whole hub assembly gets replaced if the bearing is junk. Only the 2WD can be repacked/replaced. The hub runs $133 which is why I am asking. Thanks.

Re: New Noise

The whole hub does need to be replaced on 4x4. I got mine done at the shop due to lack of time and they only charged around $40 or $50 for labor. Not too bad.
