Re: Any one had problems with lock solenoid?
Yeah, I had a similliar problem with mine.
I got the AutoLoc KL550 5 channel kit with the GT2000 Actuators, and a seperate rear door popper. I installed the front door Actuators and the KL550 module and ran the tests. It all worked fine until I gave it a stress test (not on purpose). I was trying to see how far I could get from the car with the remote, locking/unlocking the doors every few seconds, after the 10/12th activation, and about 40 feet away they stopped working. WTF! only 40 feet I says to myself!! That's BS! So I come closer and notice I still get no response, closer, closer... notta. Get right up to the control module and I can hear the internal relays clicking. Hmmm -- so I disconnect the door Actuators and sure enough, the module IS putting out the 12v power to pop the Actuators, and applying a direct 12v to the actuators does nothing. Woah. These things are 2 hours old and their fried. So now I'm considering putting the last two GT2000's that are earmarked for the back doors into the fronts, but I dont want to go through all that if their going to die again. I have some communications going with my dealer hoping he'll recommend a stronger Actuator or another solution. I definately dont want to open up the door panels every so often. Hope this thread takes off, I'd like to hear more about Actuators and relays.
