pcv valve

87 civic 1.3 needa change the pcv valve and cant find it, i know it goes from the crankcase breather housing to the intake manifold but if anybody knows anything about this engine theres alot of tubes and hoodgerwhatzers that go to the manifold. does anybody know how to find the pcv valve?

should come out on the driver side of the valve cover.

The drivers side of valve cover is the PCV intake part of system. The actual PCV valve is at the back of the block, set into a black rubberized breather housing above the oil filter, just under the intake manifold. If you look thru the intake manifold from above, it's between #1 and #2 intake runners, you can follow the hose (about 4" long) from the top of the intake manifold to the valve. Be careful, the valve loves to fall into the breather housing when you remove the hose. If it does, it will NOT fall into the engine, just will be stuck in the breather baffles. (Drove around with the old one rattling around for a year before I dug it out) Working from below, I had to remove some hardware to get at it. Good Luck.

the pcv valve is in the intake manifold and can be removed from the top with a set of long 45 degree angled needle nosed pliers.
