Also does the nissan 300zx non turbo and nissan 2+2 have the same horsepower and engine?

Re: Single Turbo (SpeedPimp84)

Single Turbo has been done anc create big power but i must tell you it will not be easy...

custom manifolds will be the hardest part and figuring out where you want the turbo to be located. reguardless it is alot of work but has been done with great success. streetability is better with the TT set-up as they will usually spool better in most cases.

but if you are willing and looking to take on a BIG project, go ahead...results are very good.

check out this site for more info. there is a guy on there that did this set-up and then sold it to a buddy of his, it is not in a black car.

good luck

im still trying to think of what you mean by "make up for the power." what power needs to be made up?

Re: Single Turbo (SpeedPimp84)

The Z31 Turbos had a single turbo set up, would it be possible to use their exhaust manifold for that?

the way the Z31 passenger side exhaust manifolds wraps around, i dont think its possible for it to wrap around the engine on the Z32.

it is an idea though, it may only take a little modifying to get them to work.

it may just be better to get custom tubular manifolds for high power applications because if i am not mistaken, the Z31 manifolds are usually upgraded on the Z31 for those owners seeking decent power.

Re: Single Turbo (SpeedPimp84)

I would stick with the TT setup and just change the turbo's...

Re: Single Turbo (SpeedPimp84)

stock z31 mani's are said to flow up to 700hp... the only reason people change them is to relocate the turbo so they can fit a bigger one (SATAN from z31.com did this and ran a t66 turbo... hell of a mean car too, hit low 11's in the 1/4 and he's now shooting for 9's with his new setup)

my mistake...

i thought they were a choked up part on the Z31 like the Z32. for example, i have seen the stock Z32 manifolds (even ported and polished) flow 650rwhp but when tubular or high flow cast pieces were added, the difference in HP was nuts.

hmm...this thread makes me wonder where the best placement for a single turbo on the Z32 would be. i seen someone do it on the front side of the driver's side but the set-up didnt look efficient.
