Question 1998 metro

my son has a 1998 metro, we replaced the plugs and wires over the summer, just recently it putts until warm, only in first (automatic) then is fine, i was told that wires from autozone are cheap and could be the probelm, did put fuel injection cleaner in with no help, any suggestions

also he has a leak on the drivers side seems to come down the panel and to the floor, so when he runs the heat fogs up inside of windows, took to glass shop said the seals were ok and i would never find the leak, however this is dangerous to drive when the windows are fogged any suggestions heat is great so not heater core on the drivers side the water is

If your getting good heat that will tell you your heater core is not plugged - but it could be leaking which would explain the windows quickly fogging up. Has he had to add coolant lately or is there a sweet smell coming from the registers? If so then it may be his heater core.

For the first problem there can be a liteny of causes from low fuel pressure (bad fuel pump or plugged filter), bad engine coolant sensor, MAP sensor, plugged PCV valve, burn valves worn out engine..... the list goes on for about a month. The first two things I would do to narrow down the problem is to take a fuel pressure test and a compression check and to check engine vacuum. These few checks can start help parsing down the list if things that could be causing it.

Recently my Geo ran really crumby until it warmed up (see http://www.automotiveforums.com/vbul....php?t=518498). I have a 93 3 cylinder and the crank shaft keyway was wacked out of proportion.
