Re: Nypd Upgrades Too! ~ 06
cops should develop some Mad Max-esque car;
one with a huge blower sticking out of it. a blower so damn huge it takes up 3/4 of your rear view mirror. |

Re: Nypd Upgrades Too! ~ 06
Firstly two spirits, didn't know you lived in NYC, im not to far.
The way I see it, i think it will improve response time. Of course faster cars would help. And maybe that's why they are settling for a few V6s with a mix of the 5.7 liter V8s. The V6s are used for the crowded areas such as Manhattan. And there are some places where you can really, really really speed in NYC. I recall one night, around 12 or 1 in the morning, we were coming back from Long Island going on a highway through Brooklyn in my dads 745, because I remember seeing the tip of lower Manhattan on my left. I was trying to see if I could find it on Google Earth, and I think it was 278, before, or maybe after the Battery Tunnel. I remember it because, the highway was a causeway bridge and it was only 6 lanes across with very small shoulders, so there was practically no where for the cops to hide: it was like a freakin runway. My uncle who was in the car with me said that "this highway is known for people who speed...there's no where for cops to hide so people come up with their sports cars and really open them up," as my dad was doind around 95 on it. I think that the V8s are meant for the night for highway patrol, and faster response time while the V6s stay on the streets. in addition, at least they're moving away from those problematic POS Fords. And i'm sure this was also considered after that design recall on the Ford Crown Vics, where if rear ended, it would ignite the gas tank which was too exposed and would cause the car to explode, that happened a while back, as I remember on the news. Edit: Google Earth says it's where the Belt and the Gowanus, or the BQE (same thing?) come together heading north.

and not many cars seem to out run camaros that hit 160. Therefore it would be pointless to have Chargers in L.A.

Yeah alot of cities have Copmaros.. when you see one of those, I think its pointless to run. They run 11s on the track I think or something around there with nitrous.
