Does Your (ecotec) Transmission (axle seal) leak?

This poll Applies ONLY to owners of any 2003 and up GM automobile w/ the Ecotec Engine (2.2L 4 Cylinder) Mated to an AUTO transmission.

I have a 2004 Chevy Malibu classic. The L/F Axle seal leaks. Its not much, but its enough to cause some concern.

The leak can be seen by following the Driver's front axle into the transmission. Where it goes in, there is a seal, and on mine, there is evidence of seepage. Does your car have this?

- My G/F's car used to (got replaced under warranty @ 31000 miles).
- My Friends car does.
- EVERY car i've seen at my job (Goodyear Auto Care) in the past week has a leaky seal (3 total).

My car is out of warranty so im stuck to foot the Bill. upwards of $200! absolute BS, because this is a pre-existing problem.

I bought a 2006 Cobalt with that engine and on the third day noticed oil spots on my carport. Brought it back to the dealer and they had to pull the engine to change the rear main seal and an unspecified gasket to stop the leak.
