Re: 95 Metro Timing Belt snapped
This is my first post and I hope you can help. I have a 1994 Metro 1.0L that's been sitting under a carport for over 3 years. Replaced the battery, oil, oil filter, air filter, plugs and plug wires, distributer and rotor, cleaned the cat pee out of the back seat, and replaced the timing belt (it was broke). Starts up and runs but sounds like a farm tractor. Went to get it inspected and the man there said it sounded like it had a burnt valve. Q1: How can I tell for sure? Q2: What's the best (easiest) way to fix it? Thanks in advance for any help you can provide.

Re: 95 Metro Timing Belt snapped
Why buy a Lumina? What's wrong with your Metro? I'll tell you what is right with it. It is the lowest fuel consumer car for all the years it was being built, until those $30,000+ hybrids hit the market. If you think gas is pricey now, would you like to wager how much it will cost in three years? In five years? How about 10 years? I'm sticking with my metro to pad the pockets of those oil tycoon bastards as little as possible. And besides, who really wants to be sucking more pollution? Alright, I'm getting down from the soap box. But I'll say this one last thing, if you are going to buy a new car, why buy something that is riddled with very serious problems? Do yourself a favour and look around a bit at what else out there gets good feedback from drivers.
