A new idea for my switches..

Okay, so ive been thinkin, in the newer types of cars they seem to have the power switches in the middle of the console instead of on the door handles, and since my brother is bondo-crazy, im thinkin of doin a conversion on my power switches into the middle of my 2g, and taking out the cup holder/change holder, just seein what you guys would think..lemme know.

My first question is why? Are you making custom door panels too? if not I wouldnt bother. If that is the look you want then use FG and then bondo. You should be able to trace the wires from where they enter the door and run them to the center console fairly easy.

Re: A new idea for my switches..

well to answer ur question, is that one of my supposed 'friends' was wasted one night when i picked him up, and completely ripped the power window switch AND power lock switch out of my door panel, not realizing that the switches worked the opposite of any other window buttons. And yes, im making a custom door panel, so i thought i might as well center the switches for more room to customize, dont you worry about it being cheesy either, its all about personalization preferences.

that sucks, sounds like a good reason to make new door pannels. keep us posted, it will deffinately have a unique look.

Re: A new idea for my switches..

Re: A new idea for my switches..

no, you can run them underneath the dash and then up below the cd player and right up to the switches.

Re: A new idea for my switches..

I think it would be different and would be interesting to see how it comes out. Be sure to post pics upon completion.

BTW: My sister's new SUV has the window controls on the center console also. It is a Chevy Equinox

Re: A new idea for my switches..

I think thats an awesome idea. Just dont use the pos switches that were originally for the windows. The ones in my RS had broken numerous times. Post some pics when your done.
