Service Engine Soon light won't go off 2001 GA
Hello everyone! I am new to the board here. I consider myself to know quite a bit about cars, but my wife's 2001 GA has me stumped. The Check Engine Soon light came on today & will not go off. It's came on before & we took the gas cap off & replaced it, for it to finally go off after a few trips. But today no matter what we do, it won't go off. I know it's emissions. She hasn't fueled up lately. What else could it be making this light stay on? Thanks!

Re: Service Engine Soon light won't go off 2001 GA
the only way to tell is to get the code(s) read somewhere. Most auto parts stores will pull the codes for free, and surly tell you what the trouble is, just to sell you some part(s). If not tell us the PO# and we can get it to you.
And Welcome to AF chuck78.

You may have a broken wire to the air temp sensor. Cheap wire breaks and the light comes on. Would not suprise me one bit. Like what was said before just get the code reader and find out for sure if they say it the air temp sensor I am 99.9% sure the wire is the problem. It happened to me.

Like Xeroinfinity said get the computer scanned and post the code or codes. With OBDII the computer will tell you lot. If it is just the code for small evaporative emissions leak then have the code cleared and see what happens but it could be anything at this point.
