Question emmissions help

Hey folks.

I have a '96 Tercel as my dail, 240k miles. My emmissions is up but they won;t test it because my engine light's on. I got it coded and it sys O2 sensor not getting enough airflow.

So I replaced the O2 sensor, disconnected the battery to reset the computer, eventually the light went back on. I cleaned the EGR valve, light back on. I cleaned the EGR filter, light back on. I installed a new EGR valve, light back on. It takes about 30-50 miles after resetting the computer before the light goies back on.

What else could it be that I should check? Should I check the other EGR vavle after the cat converter, though the computer reader didnt' say anything about that, says EGR1 I think. Is there a better way in resetting the computer? Thanks for the help.

Re: emmissions help

This thread is 2 years old...car is sold now. At the time it was tuned up a week before the emmissions testing. I changed everything (full tune up) but the engine light eventually went away a month after failing emmissions for the last time and the light hasn't came back on since (for at least 1.5 years before selling the car off). Thanks for your help though, though 2 years too late
