custom 1995 taurus "se" exhaust
Hey, I'm trying to replace my muffler and resonator. What I think I'm gonna do is replace my resonator with a straight pipe instead of a bigger resonator and my muffler with a big "?" I was wondering if I could just take it off and replace it with a pipe or is that *illegal? i know that that decreases bottom end torque, but what, you expect me to be racing my taurus?
anyway, any ideas or websites with similar ideas would be much appreciated! *(oh, btw, I live in Texas)Thanks! -Mike |

Re: custom 1995 taurus "se" exhaust
most states require that you have some sort of muffler
If you really want your car that loud (it will be really loud) then get a glasspack "cherry bomb" muffler. They cost like $20.

Re: custom 1995 taurus "se" exhaust
Will those fit on a '95 taurus se? Also, can you buy those from an autoparts store i.e. Autozone/O'reilly or will you have to buy it online?
Thanks (again) for the quick response! |

Re: custom 1995 taurus "se" exhaust
oh, sorry for the double post, but I have one more quick question: Is a glasspack a resonator or an actual muffler? and if it is a resonator replacement, is that all i need? (i can run a pipe from it to the back of my car, no muffler), or is it a replacement for the muffler?

Re: custom 1995 taurus "se" exhaust
it is considered a muffler, but externally it looks more like a resonator. A lot of people do replace their resonator with one and then run a straight pipe back from there.
