Check Engine Light....How to Diagnose???

I have a 1990 mitsu eclipse, the CEL is on....Considering the car is a 1990 it should have OBD I right. Im a GM guy myself, and with the earlier OBD1 cars you had to jump the ALDL port, and the check engine light would flash accordingly letting you know the codes. Is this the case with the mitsubishi? Or do i need a code reader??? Thanx

check the faq in the main forum it explains it all and you can just jump it and it will flash otu the codes.

Only for OBDII (1996 and up I think)

95. they came on the 95 cars but you need to select 96 when pulling codes, because they don't have software for 95.

Ok cool. When I went they only advertised for 96 and up I guess because that's when most switched to OBDII? Well yeah, good luck getting a code read. I had to go to my mechanic
