Exclamation 1995 Lhs Cold Temperment???

Started car this morning, no problem, then for no reason, just quit. No sputter, erky jerky, just quit. Was wondering if this a on going problem with these cars. Seems when it gets cold, its always something happening to the car that is electrical, doors, etc.

Re: 1995 Lhs Cold Temperment???

did it ever pop a check engine light? You can see if there are any codes stored in memory by turning your key ON/OFF 3xs ending in the "ON" position and reading the number of times the check engine light flashes. If it flashes twice then pauses, then flashes another four times, that is a code 24. Try that and see what goes.

Re: 1995 Lhs Cold Temperment???

code 12= battery has been disconnected within the last 50 start-ups
code 43= engine misfire in one or more cylinders
code 55= end of code message

I'm willing to bet the code 43 is related to a bad intake manifold gasket, which is notorious for failing on early-model 3.5 V6 engines. The best way to check that is get a spray bottle of water and spray around the #5 cylinder (passenger side by the firewall) and watch for air bubbles. If you see that, then you have a gasket leak.

Thumbs up Re: 1995 Lhs Cold Temperment???

I was told last night code 43 was a ignition coil not responding, going to replace it, if that doesnt work, will try the latter, thanks again, you've helped me before and saved me loads of money and appericate that greatly
