Re: suspension lift, can someone help me out
Josh -
There aren't many options for lifting a '98 Jimmy. You can get a 2" body lift which will not throw off the alignment and there is a 2" suspension lift, but it required cutting and welding. |

Re: suspension lift, can someone help me out
The 2" SL doesn't require any cutting or welding but 2" SL's are bad because of the stress that is put on the balljoints and CV shafts. w/ that type of lift you blow through cv's and BJ's like you change underwear. The best lift is the Trailmaster 5" or the SLA 6" Both these SL's keep the stock geometry on the front end so you don't have that issue and aligments are normal. (You have to get it aligned after mucking with anything on the front end just about).
Even for a used suspension lift you are looking at around a grand for just the kit. And with the 5 and 6" lifts there is some cutting and welding involved.
