Maint Reqd
I have a Taco 05 v6 dbl Cab.
I had my oil changed at 3500 miles. At 4500 miles the MAINT REQD flashed on an then it went off. Now when I reached 5000 miles the light stays on. I read the Manuel which says to reset the system. I went by the book and tried many times but the light still stays on. How do you reset this oil change remainder light? Does it come on every 5000 miles? I change my oil on schedule but this light staying on bugs me. What is the proper way to reset it? Or do I have something else wrong? I hate to go back to the dealer if this is a minor thing. |

Re: Maint Reqd
The light does come on every 5000 miles. It actually talks about it in the owner's manual. To reset the light, make sure the trip meter is in the odometer setting, turn off the truck, hold the button down and turn the key to ON. You'll see dashes across the odometer and they will disappear one by one until it is reset. It's about a 5 second fix once you've changed your oil.

Re: Maint Reqd
The odometer function on the display is the key.
