Re: new here wanted to meet some other daewoo owners

Hello, your ride looks great. I dont know anybody that has owned a Daewoo, But now I have an aveo.......Tell me what you think of yours overall. How long and how many miles have you had it for?.....I tell you what, some people tell me the car is ugly or whatever, but for some reason I just love the darn thing! Its so roomy inside and has given me no problems at all. Take care.

while im not from oklahoma, we own an aveo... i like the car for what it is ( a cute gas saver), but is there a way to get better performance out of it?( im not talking power, im talking mpg) we have the auto so we already dont get as good of milage as the stick.

Re: new here wanted to meet some other daewoo owners

as for a review on the car its great. i've only had one major problem with it and it was just the Thermostat housing. they're made of plastic and can go out without warning. the aveo has the exact same thermostat housing so i recommend for everyone to buy a spare and keep it in the car just in case. and i have about 58,000 miles on mine and have owned it for over 3 years. oh and another thing. as for regular maintenance change your Timing Belt before 60,000 miles. the belts tend to go out about that time and if it does you'll have bent valves and possible piston damage since our cars are interference engines. better to pay like $400 to get it done than $1500-$2000 later on.

for gas mileage i would recommend to take out the Resinator in the wheel well that connects to your airfilter box. its very restrictive. it will make your engine a little louder but you'll notice the difference. plus a cat-back exhaust wouldn't hurt either or at least change your exhaust to a less restrictive one as well. oh and of course get a K&N air filter to let it breathe easier that way too. and if your state that you live in doesn't care take out the exhaust resinator too. its right after the catylitic converter and is just basically a second muffler that you don't need. once again it will make it a bit louder.

any other questions i'll gladly answer to the best of my abilities.
