Looking to upgrade my brake system, ive done a lot of research and found alot of different brake kits that range from $500 to $1500 bucks, right now i just want opinions from u folks on who makes the best brake kits, and exactly what i should be looking for...the car is not being driven right now because im rebuilding it so im not really in a rush to get em...just tryin to find out how much i have to come out the pocket to get the best...or close to the best...currently installing a B16 with turbo soon to come...any opinions would be greatly appreciated

Selecting brake components depends on what you are planning to do with the car. As an example, I would not put on a set of race compound pads on a mostly street car, because most of the race compound pads require high temperature. So if you are driving your car around town in normal fashion, then those pads actually work worse than the stock pads. So if you are looking for new brake components, I would recommend that you look into sports or premium street pads. I have a set of Hawk HPS on mine and I think it works a lot better than the stock ones. I also hear EBC Green Stuff is pretty nice too. Overall, I think anykind of reputable manufacturer's product should work fine.

Also don't forget about rotors too. Drill and slotted rotors are nice but you can't turn/resurface them. You can look into a big brake kit, but you need to make sure you have larger diameter wheels to accomodate it. Usually 17" rims minimum.

Anyways, when it is all done, make sure to bed your new pads and rotors correctly.

Just for your reference, I have Hawk EPS pads with Brembo Blank Rotors and I really can feel the difference feom the stock setup without being too harsh.

thanks for the info, when i finish building the car it will be primarily a street car, might take it to the track once in a while but not enough to require high performance pads and roters...ill keep you updated on what i decide to go with..thanks again
