I just purchased a used 94 camry Forest Green, this car and the previous one I looked at also a 94 Camry Forest Green. Both had issues with the paint on the roof severly faded. Has anyone seen this?? Do you know if rubbing compound will bring the paint back out?? Is this an issue with all camry's or just this year and color.
The car I purchased is a V6 and the interior is like brand new. But what can i do about the faded paint?? Any idea's

Re: 94 Camry Faded Paint on roof and trunk
I think it's best to take the car in to a professional and get his opinion. With today's clear coat finishes on top of the color, I don't think rubbing compound will do anything for you, but as I said, it's best to get a professional's opinion. They don't charge for quoting things.
I think the only solution you will find is to have both surfaces repainted. Good luck. Mike |

Re: 94 Camry Faded Paint on roof and trunk
On my black integra, I had some pretty bad fade on the roof, and as a last resort before taking it to a shop, I used some regular (meguires i think) wax, and buffed it for a while by hand. I waxed it HARD by the way.
It looked alot better after about 30 minutes of wax on/wax off. I worked on it for about 3-4 hours waxing over and over, my wax pad was black when I was finished. It looked brand new, just like the rest of the car. It's been 6 months, and I havent waxed it since, (it's been in storage) and it still looks just the same. Worked for me, dont know if it will work for you. |

I've seen this on my friends Honda. It's too late as the clear coats been baked very well during a hot summer one time. You'll just have to get it repainted and clear coated. rimfire,22 |
