idle judder

hi everyone im new to this site, i have a problem with my 96 (p) e39 which is a 523i se the problem is when i start the car and drive everything is fine until the car reaches normal temp then i get a slight judder at tickover only, ie at lights or at a stop weither its in neutral or in gear mine is a manual by the way, i dont think its a mounting as its not there when cold, apart from that little niggle the car is superb has anyone got any ideas as to what it could be im thinking of taking it to the main dealer but would rather do it myself as i do most work myself

Re: idle judder

check the fan blades on the cooling fan, as i have seen these break off and cause slight vibration.

Re: idle judder

Hi Jimmya 1,
the fan is ok, someone told me to check the air flow so i checked the air filter which was in terrible condition so i have replaced that and no difference so i went to the airflow sensor and with the engine running i unscrewed the plug to it and removed it and the car lost the judder it was running sweet as a nut until i put the plug back in and the judder returned so im guessing that the airflow sensor has packed up but i would like to get this confirmed by someone before i replace it as they are not cheap.
thanks for the help i most apprechiate it
