95 4.3 cpi knock sensor

Hi,
Can someone tell me where the knock sensor is located on a S10 95 4.3 cpi. My S10 as thrown the code a couple of times, but then will go without for a while. Also does the code mean that the sensor just needs to be replaced?

If someone can let me know that would be great. (maybe a pic) Also if someone knows where I can get one or has a used one.

Thanks
Josh

Re: 95 4.3 cpi knock sensor

In 1995 you may have one or two knock sensors. If you have 2, the left and right ones are not the same so make sure to replace in correct side. They are on the head(s) either between spark plugs, or on back of head (towards the firewall).
If you don't know what they look like, go to autozone or advance auto or AC Delco website and look at a picture of the part. Do not run with bad knock sensors or you will risk damaging your pistons and rings.
