How hard is it to replace set recliner mechanism
My wife came in testerday holding the handle to her seat recliner on her 2000 Jimmy. At first I thought it had just come loose but now I relize the shaft actually snapped off. Just wanting to know the steps needed to replace it.
Thanks in Advance TCJimmy |

Re: How hard is it to replace set recliner mechanism
This is a common problem. GM used screws that were too big when installing the handles. The oversized scew weakens the shaft. Most the time, you don't need to replace the whole thing. AutoZone sells replacement handles that will work even if the shaft is broke. They cost about $8 for the pair. Look for them in the "Help!" section.

Re: How hard is it to replace set recliner mechanism
Thanks Blazee
Stopped by Autozone last night picked one up cost was 24 bucks for one. I did not have time to put it on last night. It appears to slip over the existing shaft. and tighten down with a set screw. TCJIMMY |
