Howdy Y'all, I've got myself into a little bit of a conundrum: I have a 97 GA SE 2.4L 4 banger coupe. I have disc brakes in front and drums in rear. I have about 2 millimeters of thickness in my brake pads, and i purchased new ones yesterday. All was going well in my efforts to replace the pads, until I tried to disassemble to caliper. My Chilton's manual says I need to "simply remove the two bolts holding the caliper assembly together". I found the two bolts, but i have no idea what I sould use to remove them!!! No mention of bolt size or anthing is in the manual.
I'm sure this is a stupid question, and I apologize for my ignorance. But what size and type of tool should I use to get this part done? I've done pad repacement on my previous vehicle (86 Honda Accord) with no problems. If i remember correctly, that car used a 15mm hex, easy enough. But for my GA, i looked as far as i could and found a large hex allen wrench, but the largest one i could find wasn't big enough! Thanks for any assistance to my very ignorant post. |

Re: Disc Brake Replacement...?
Its going to be either a t-55 torx bit or a 10mm allen head, some cars have one and some have the other, my 95 gt has the allen heads, but my buddy's 96 gt has the torx.. go figure...
