Just wondering.........

This is the first dodge ive owned, I hear that neons are notorious for head gaskets....Is there a certin kind of oil and antifreeze that helps prevent this? Also I was wondering what kind of plug and wires are the best for a 96 sport 2.0.

No, having the newer MLS headgasket prevents the HG leak though.

Champion stock copper plugs or NGK's are the two best plugs for the neon. No platinum plugs in your neon. Wires, eh, whatever the store sells. I have Magnecor wires on my neon and have no complaints.

Re: Just wondering.........

Another stupid question...whats the difference between a dodge neon, and a plymoth neon? I thought all neons were "dodge", until I seen the plymoth logo on my hood!

Same thing with my Dodge Grand Caravan. It has the Dodge logo on the hood and the Plymoth logo on the stearing wheel. What is the deal with that??

Plymouth made neons also. There isn't much different between the two other than packages that were sold with them. For example, plymouth has the expresso which is kind of like dodge's sport. The engines and parts are identical between the two, given the same year of course.

Re: Just wondering.........

ryan sounds like someone screwed up when they put the steering wheel on :o. if you bought it new like that you should/should have complained about it, it would have gotten changed asap.
