Question Miss at heavy to Full Throttle

Hi all,

Sorry, I searched the forum for possible issues here, but did not see anything that applies to my issue.

I have a bone stock '98 Lumina 3.1L except for K&N Filter. I have changed plugs, wires, and fuel filter. The car runs awesome except when I get into heavy or full throttle, then it has a signficant interuption of power, almost as if it is hitting the rev limited, but I am pretty confident I am not hitting the rev limiter, with an automatic transmission. WIth no tach, I can not tell for sure.

Anyway, does anyone have a possible solution to this issue? Again, other than this, the car runs perfectly, and averages about 26 mpg.

Thanks,
Barry

Re: Miss at heavy to Full Throttle

An over oiled K&N could screw up the MAF sensor which could cause a misfire

Re: Miss at heavy to Full Throttle

im not exactly sure what you're asking, but you may have diagonosed it incorrectly, thats possibly a transmission problem, i have a 95 3.4 that had a weird problem, i would punch the gas and it would hesitate like a misfire, but it turned out it was my transmission, 2200 bucks later...problem solved
