93 Lumina
Hello I have a 1993 Lumina and I am have a prob. with we got used from a dealer as is and we got one week ago and now we are having a realy bad prob. with it when you go down the road it shifts fine untill you get in to high gear and then it starts to bogg down and you have to let off the gas to let it drop down a gear so it will start running ok what could that be please help!!!!
could it be the converter or some thing else Thanks rleddick |

Can't diagnose from here, try a new fuel filter, have the fuel pressure checked, best I can do for you.

A convertor can be checked with a back pressure test at the oxygen sensor hole. Back pressure shouldn't exceed 1.5 psi. Anything more than that, and you have a converter plugging up. I would suspect a TCC solenoid not disengaging, causing the engine to bog once in overdrive by not unlocking and allowing the motor to pick up RPM. You can unplug the TCC harness and if it stops bogging, that's the problem. How long has it been since you tuned her up, including the fuel filter as Maxwedge suggested?
