No high beam lights

The high beam lights on my nieces 98 Sunfire have stopped working. The low beams and DRL work fine. Should I replace the switch or look somewhere else. Also, does anyone know how to test the switch ? Thanks

Re: No high beam lights

well do u feel the click when changing from low to high beam?

now dont take this wrong but.. look at ur bulbs to make sure the high beam filament is not burnt

also u can disconnect the connector going to the lamps and check for voltage

if is not voltage present then everything leads to the switch

Re: No high beam lights

The headlight switch on my 98 Cavalier went bad - in this case it was the low beams that wouldn't work. The switch still clicked like normal, but internally didn't make the connection. Replaced the switch, works fine now. From what I've read, headlight switch failure for these cars is fairly common.
