chevy cavalier engine question, PLEASE HELP!

I have already asked this question, but no one seems to know. I have a 2000 Z24 with a spun bearing, so I need to replace the engine. My friend has a 98 Z24 that is wrote off, so he said that I can have his 2.4 "quad 4" that is in his car. his motor says "quad 4" on the top of it, and my motor just says "2.4" on it. They essentially look the same (engine mounts in same place), but I don't know if it will fit into my car AND work. Does anyone on here know if the 98 2.4 will fit into a 2000 with a 2.4?
