V8 in 240Z?

Sorry if this is a dumb or common question, but I'm new to the boards. I was wondering if putting a v8 in a 240 is possible and how some problems are solved. Such as tranny, rear, drive shaft? I don't mind reading if anyone has any links. Is it the same as a 280? Drive train wise?

LOL LOL LOL, you beat me to the punch there 1via.

I RECENTLY READ A GOOD ONLINE ARTICLE about the swap, but i am too drunk and too tired to look for it now, maybe after work tomarrow.

it is very possible, although the purists (like me) won't like it, it is your car.

if i remember, i will look for that article tomarrow.

the 280 and 240 Zs are very simmilar, most if not all, swap info for a v8 into a 280z will apply to a 240z.

Re: V8 in 240Z?

That's nice, but I don't consider 14.7s to be fast or fun. Thanks for the help.

^he's in utah man, with some high ass motha fuckin' altitude (correct me if your at sea level, but I'm assuming you're not) so it would be more like 13.7 at sea level.

Re: V8 in 240Z?

13.7's is slower than what I ran w/ the old motor. My current combo goes 11.60's in a 3400# car n/a w/ a n2o set up. I want to go much faster in a much lighter car. I guess I'll just keep poking around for some fast people.

Rule of thumb is a tenth for every 1000 feet. So he would need to be at 10,000 to see a full second difference.
