engine swap

I recently swapped out a 95 3.5 Litre in my LHS for a 96. I was told at the junk yard that it would drop right in. For the most part it did, except for a couple connectors on the wiring harnesses. The problem I have now is with the main connection point on the passenger side in the engine compartment. Where the engine electric components connect to the car. The 95 had a 2 wire connector with an green / orange wire and a heavier gauge blue/black wire, this connector is not there on the 96 engine. I believe this is preventing the car from starting. Does anyone have any knowledge of this? Are there any work arounds?

I think a better way to word this is: Is anyone aware of any differences in the wiring harness for 95 & 96 3.5 engines

Re: engine swap

You need to use the 95 Harness from the other engine and also possibly the Intake Plenum too for the sensors on it. 93-95 Engine wiring is the same, 96-97 wiring is OBD-II and not the same.
