Heater Problem '94 Cavalier

No heat - changed heater core, changed thermostat, still no heat. Was told to bleed the lines, so did that. When in the garage and bleeding the lines, the temperature guage went to half mark and the cooling fan kicked in. Outside the garage temp. guage only climbs to 1/4 mark and there is some heat.

What else could be done?

so when you are outside or driving then it only goes to 1/4 heat. Replaced the thermy with a good one. Many people have the same problem, I think the brand durlast or somehting is the worst. Go to napa or the dealer. Might be an extra buck but it's still cheap. then make sure your collant is still good

I guess I shouldn't of trusted my mechanics. One is liscenced and one is not. I put Prestone Celcius antifreeze in the car and they both told me it didn't have to be premixed. On the back of the container it says mix 50/50 for -37 and 70/30 for -67. I questioned them both and they said it is premixed don't worry about it. I called Prestone 1-800 phone and they told me if it was pre-mixed it would say on the container, therefore I had straight antifreeze in my car. I drained it and added properly mixed antifreeze and I have heat and temperature gauge stays between 1/4 and 1/2. I know of 8 other vehicles they have put this in staight antifreeze, and they are having the same heating problems. READ LABELS AND DON'T ALWAYS TRUST A MECHANIC. Second or third opinions help and thanks for trying. Taz
