Looking to buy another car....

I've always wanted an Integ GS-R, but I was looking at either a late model Si, GS-R, or a 95 or so BMW M3. I also was looking into one of those Civics like on The Fast & The Furious. The thing about buying one of those old Civics is that I can mod it a little better than if I spent 16K on a more expensive car. So what do you guys think?

Well, for one, you are asking a biased crowed here

So with that said, I would go with the GS-R. Sure it may cost a little more, but you a nice B18C to work with

Of course, you could buy an older civic and drop $10,000 or so in there right off the back including a B18C, B16B, or H22A swap...I like that idea as well.

Is a H22A a Prelude engine? Is a dude on another board that has a Civic hatchback with a H22A swap and a cat-back exhaust running good times (forgot exactly what time he is running)

Yea, the H22A is the prelude. USDM runs 190...JDM runs 220.

M3? What is there to decide? I may be an integra fan, but I would go with the M3 over any of them if I had the money.

Really? I love the Integs and I dont think there is any car out there that I would take over one. The reason why is because it was the first car I wanted to buy, but my credit wasnt good, because I was only 19. Now my credit is great, but they stopped making them and I needed a 4 Dr car. So I got the Spec-V. The reason why I'm looking at a M3 os because the proformance is AWESOME! But the Integra is my heart. I was thinking of getting a GS-R and slapping a Spoon Type-R engine in it.

you know what M3 means dont you?

its gonna cost you 3 times as much money to own as a GS-R or a civic

yea, its fine.. until it breaks

BMWs are very expensive and if the series number is preceded with an M, that raises the cost of upkeep

do more research and weigh your options well based on ALL factors

about that spoon type r engine, i'd be careful....unless your gonna be doing mainly autocross and track racing, dont put that spoon engine in there. they are meant to be driven on the track, and dont do well on the street. they tend to be high maintenance. i'd go with either the gsr or a type-r

I would get a Type-R but they dont come with leather or sunroofs. I like the Type-R's wong though. I like the look of the M3 but I guess I didnt think about the maintaince costs.

Would you be complaining if you had the type r setup though?

You can always get leather interior later....or otherwise by a GSR and do a type R swap....or there are places that can do sunroofs.

even if you swap a type R engine, and suspension into a GS-R it still won't be as good as a type R

the GS-R is heavier, and the type R has special unique-to-ITR chassis stiffening enhancements to improve handling

the ITR is a driver's car

its a not-many-compromises car

people who want to drive a type R really don't care about leather (too slippery in corners anyway) or a sunroof (just added weight). there is a reason A/C is merely a dealer-installed option.

if you want the lux items go with the GS-R and don't bother with the ITR
