Hi thanks by reseting the Pcm all I have to do is disconnect the battery right,if so I did this. Also not burning any oil,and car idles at between 900 to 1200rpms.Also when going to stop sign the idle will jump up then go back down .

Most people don't reccomend this, unless you think it has already been messed with, but i've done it for my car a couple of times with no problems and it does work.
On your throttle body there is a small torx head screw by itself towards the front/bottom (sometimes covered by a plastic plug), you can turn it counter clockwise just a little at a time and this will back your idle down.
if you look at it you can easily understand how this works, it moves the throttle valve/plate rest position slightly when you have no tension on the throttle cable.

^^^ i do not recommend that ^^^

an easier way of reseting the PCM is to pull the PCM B fuse. try it then post back. but i don't concider 900-1200 bad in any means, thats about where i keep mine.

Re: idle 1997 dohc 1.9

My sohc had the intake gasket fail, and the vacuum leak raised the idle.
You can check the gasket with some throttle body cleaner. Just lightly spray around the intake/ head area. If the revs come up, you've got a leak.

even if you do this the PCM will still set the idle where it wants it
