Raising compression

Hey, i'm rebuilding my motor with new forged pistons, and i have a choice with stock compression or 8:5:1 on my VR4. The only turbo upgrade i have planned is a 13G\9b combo so will i be able to safely run with this setup? sorry i dont know too much about technicallities on tuning

Well that is barely a turbo upgrade, so 8.5:1 would easily be fine. You have a 91, so datalogging for knock won't be hard, so you could even go bigger on the turbos quite easily. I'd say go for it.

aight cool, thanks, another quick question, Will boring out my cylinders 0.70 over require larger headgaskets? the stock headgaskets are 92mm right? Do yall think i will need the bigger ones that 3sx sells?

^ you could make up a t3/t4 hybrid turbo (I'm assuming that 9b's are t3s) which'll give you t/4 power with a quicker spool.

9b's are stock TD04 based turbos.

A few "bolt on" mods, a couple "cut, smash, hammer, weld, etc" mods, and a couple "why the hell do I need this/what the hell is this" weight reductions.
