Re: Progress - Tamiya Ferrari 312T3
Sorry I think I need to more clearly share my question. I was after the explanation regarding making the mesh intake covers and where you sourced the exhaust pipe retainer springs and clutch springs.
Thanks for the detail on making the trumpets Stephen Quote:

Re: Progress - Tamiya Ferrari 312T3
Bobalisticisciousness!!
(at least I can be sure that no one has paid you that compliment before!) Sorry, but I didn't quite understand the thing with the individual bits of glitter Maybe you could explain at some time in a further update?)

Re: Progress - Tamiya Ferrari 312T3
More updates
Step 9 began work on the chassis so I decided to cut the sides off with a fine saw to assist in painting and detailing the part ![]() I've already posted pictures of the chassis underway so it was time to start painting the body parts. Unfortunately I realised after painting and decaling the part that I had missed the smaller radiator opening on the version I'm building, (late 1978). I considered just moving on, who would notice? but I couldn't! Out came my second kit and the modifications started again. ![]() ![]() ![]() Here are my machined front shocks from Step 12. I also started Step 13, which includes the steering wheel. This was painted with Citadel colour black spray which looks a lot like leather. The logo is MFH (Model Factory Hiro) and I also added a Scale Race Cars toggle switch. I've added a comparison picture with my FW 24 wheel to show the massive difference a few decades can make! ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Almost finished

Re: Progress - Tamiya Ferrari 312T3
Rob if you keep this standard up you'll have Mr Tamiya calling you and offering you a position as his chief prototype kit maker...! And in expectation of that, I'd like to put in an advance request for a McLaren F1 road car, a StarWars Monaco Redbull, and a Midland F1 in test colours.
Cheers mate. *grin* And excellent work! |

Re: Progress - Tamiya Ferrari 312T3
Fantastic progress as usual Rob. It's a real shame about the radiator openings. But on the upside they're already done for your early season curbside build that you can display next to this car
And what's the go with the FW24 wheel? I haven't seen any progress threads. Are you holding out on us
