What type of gas?

Have a 98 GTP Supercharged and wondering type of gas should I be using? I have putting 93 octane since I bought the car used with 106,00 miles on it. It now has about 132,000, should I continue to use this?

Re: What type of gas?

Keep using the 93 octane since that is what the owners manual recommended. If you use the supercharger a lot you will get a lot of KR that will reduce your performance. Also by using the lower octane fuel your risk severe detonation that can damage your cars engine. A lot of GTP owners use 89 octane but I still recommend 93 for best performance. So unfortunately bearinns08 I disagree!

Re: What type of gas?

gtpdad is right and the mechanics at gm would confirm that if you ever had to take your car in for service. while the 3800 is a bullit proof motor, it is still only as good as we take care of it. its like using the recommended oil, transmission, and other fluids that is in your owners manual.
