Trans has only 2nd forward gear

1995 Cavalier 2.3 Quad-4 with the 4T40 trans. when I scan it it gives code 0758, I replaced the shift solenoids and checked the shift valves for being stuck down in the downshift position per my trans. manuels description, is there any way to check the PCM to make sure it's not the issues or is there more in the transmission that needs to be looked at to see if it's the problem?....any info would be appreciated, Fred
