Exclamation engine problem

hey i'm having a problem. when i start my car it sometimes goes up to 1k rpm but then starts to drop and starts idling hard but then goes back to normal, other times it starts but then shuts off, and when you restart it sounds like the starter is grinding and it kinda has trouble starting but then its fine. i have an idea what it might be but what do you guys think???

any help would be appreciated, thank you.

Could be a dirty fuel filter or fuel pressure regulator could be going bad... Good luck.

Do not use Bosch platinum plugs in the VQ engine. The ignition system in our cars will eat the electrode up and you WILL have problems down the road. This has been confirmed over and over again. NGK plugs are the best spark plug for our cars.

Now on to your problems......
Idle problems are ususlly caused by dirty throttle bodys or dirty IACV valves. Instructions on how to clean your throttle body can be found here. www.motorvate.ca

Your starter grinding noises are also covered on the above mentioned web site.

1-change air filter (any brand)
2-change fuel filter (any brand)
3-change spark plugs (NGK)
