Buying first bmr - 1985 635 csi 130Kmiles

Looking for feedback from others about this car. Don't mind hiccups in a car, just like to know what to look for/at when buying this car. Appreciate any feedback from others. THanks! Julie

Go to Bigcoupe Forum, they have an excellant buyers checklist for just what you are asking. Whatever you read be prepared to devote necessary time and money. Owning one of these 6's is a challenge all it's own.

Thanks for the replys...picked it up...took to a shop to look at and am going to have to put in $2,500 on the gitgo. Replaced blower motor, Front end needs tightening, needs oil pan gasket and pitman arm needs to be replaced. I found a webiste for parts so I feel a bit better about that and have some leads for someone to work on it. Let me heart do the thinking instead, but as I am an avid read and web geek, I think I am about the embark on learning anything and everything about the 6-series. Totally pissed that I missed one in better shape for same money on E-Bay, but here we go. Thanks for the replys and suggestions. Julie

Julie,

Since you noted that the steering is loose I would have your mechanic look at the steering box mounts. The mount that is on the cross-member is known to break. MWRENCH has a wonderful repair kit that is superior to using the bolt and washers trick. In fact I think I will PM you to give you good resources and part links.
