Angry no compression no spark

so i have a best friend with a 1990 plymouth laser 1st gen. he just had a motor swap done to it and ever since it has run like crap. it has been shooting white exhaust, stalling when he pushes the throttle, a sticky throttle cable, and a leaking steering pump. just last night his car stalled and finally stop. now it wont start at all. ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh whats wrong. i think it might be a bent valve or a hole in the inner wall. whats the opinion out there.

Re: no compression no spark

My guess is head gasket. White smoke is coolant being burned. Do some tests and find out, see if the plugs are firing, see if theres compression and see if the injectors are pulsing. Test those and you will find your problem. btw is it a turbo or na?

Re: no compression no spark

yeah its a nt hes wants to make it turbo but we need to get it running first. we did check the spark and there isnt any spark soo thats on prob. the wire to the injectors was snapped from the guy that dropped the "new" engine in so we did have to fix that. could that cause something that big???

Re: no compression no spark

Have you checked to see if the injectors were pulsing after you fixed the wire? The spark could be bad plugs bad wires or a bad coil pack. my rims are exel dl-46

Re: no compression no spark

just replaced plugs last night before the problems and after the wire was fixed it was running in the shop for about 30 minutes. ie sparks were bosch +4
last night we did an oil change, sparks, and fixed the wire

Re: no compression no spark

I'm not a big fan of bosch plugs. If I was you when it gets running again throw some ngks on there. Have you checked the plug wires at all?

Re: no compression no spark

Well then IIRC that leaves like 3 things that would cause no spark, the coil pack, transistor pack, or ecu. none of which are cheap. Test and see if you can pin point it before you spend a whole lot of money where you dont need to
