Cleaning the Lower intake gasket contacts

I assume one has to be careful when cleaning the old intake gasket off the engine when replacing? What does everyone use???? I was thinking of using a razor blade but someone told me the aluminum was too soft for that?

Thanks for the Info!!!

Re: Cleaning the Lower intake gasket contacts

If you are careful, you can use a razor. But what someone said is true, the razor is harder then the cylinder head and you can scratch/gouge it. A plastic scraper is better. Some acetone or brake cleaner will finish up the job.
