1988 4.3 s10 backfire
Hi my beater/winter car is a 88 s10 with the 4.3 throttle body injection, recently it has started to backfire, but only after the vehicle is warmed up which has led me to beleive that the converter is plugged, or it is something to do with the fuel delivery system. Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated

Re: 1988 4.3 s10 backfire
i don't know how to fix your problem but one thing is to run SEA FOAM through your system... u can acually pour the stuff right into your throttle body as long as it's upright, pour it into your gas can to, but read the directions on the can first. it's some viscious stuff, but it cleans out injectors and the catylic converter. i'd use this stuff any day over just fuel cleaners. when running through throttle body it will probably plume out white smoke from your exhaust, but that's what it's burning, just read the directions though.
hope this helps brandon p.s if u want to see what the can looks like, here's the sea foam site http://www.seafoamsales.com/motorTuneUp.htm |
