Cannot lock the door. Manually or with keyless????

its the driver door. I am unable to push down the lock manually or lock it with the keyless. It was working a week ago. Does anybody know what the problem is or what it might be?

Thanks,
Reggiewolf

Re: Cannot lock the door. Manually or with keyless????

Could it be the lock motor?

Re: Cannot lock the door. Manually or with keyless????

The lock motor is built into the latch mechanism, it needs to be replaced as a unit, if the manual locks are froze up too then that is also part of the latch mechanism, you need to remove the door panel, unplug the wiring connection for the lock motor, remove the rods for the key, inside handle, outside handle, and the inside manual lock knob, then remove the 3 torx screws from around the latch and pull it out from the inside of the door, really not that bad of a job but the panel can be a pain, you must remove all screws (2 screws visible at the top of the panel, 1 screw where the inside door latch handle, 1 screw in the arm rest area, 2 or 3 screws along the bottom of the panel, and 2 screws on each side if the front speaker after the screen mesh is removed) then the panel should lift straight up and away from the door. The rods have them plastic clips that you lift up on the lever end then swing out to remove the rods.

Is it fixable or would I need a new lock motor?
