Okay so I was driving yesterday in that mess through most of Virginia to Roanoke from DC when I started having ridiculous acceleration and O/D Light issues etc..
2 miles from my friends home thankfully off I-81, the damn thing finally dies and my thought is from the sounds oh the linkage or the cable snapped.. After the tow to an AAMCO, it was the entire transfer case and TC Motor that were completely shot.. So for $1600 bucks it was replaced and everything was fantastic as of this morning so in less than 24 hours those lovely boys down there performed a miracle on my V6 Mountie and away I went back.. On Thursday I had gotten $600 worth of new big hunky wonderful tires and an oil change, filter and new belt.. so about another $100 worth of shit.. Alright well... I stop to get gas after going about 200 and some of my like 300 mile trip... Fill up and everything is fine.. well I start to notice this odd RPM issue where it almost feels sluggish like it did the day before.. (oh note I didnt have time to have the check engine light from friday AM run.. maybe it would've saved me the heartache of a tow in no man's land..) nevertheless everything seemed fine by the time I returned to DC about 2 hours ago I've been praying that things would shape up and my Mountie is just tired... So an hour ago I head to the store, and the RPMs are so high its ridiculous, and sluggish to accelerate, we're talking 2500 at 20 mph then it drops down to about 1000... The store being only 5 blocks each way.. I'm concerned.. Any ideas??? If I spend anymore I'd have paid for the truck.. oh btw.. I just crossed the 150k mark and it was and still for the most part is running strong! THANKS 99 Mountie V6 150k Miles Lots of attitude (vehicle and owner) haha |

Re: Transfer Case, Transmission and 2500 later..
Idf they disconnected your battery the computor may have to re-a-just it self. From what I was told this may take a couple of days. Or maybe your mechanic wiil have to reinstall the hardware for the computor. Good Luck

Re: Transfer Case, Transmission and 2500 later..
Man it sounds like you have been had by AAMCO.
A transfer case does not cause slippage. IT goes or not goes. The trans is slipping on it. First check the fluid level of the trans. and make it is full of fluid Then find a good dealer or repair shop and have them check it out. MT
