High reving 2.0 or torquy 2.3?
I'm eventually going to build a motor for my talon but I cant decide if I want to build a 2.0 or stroke it. this is going to be a dd afterwards so it had to be totally streetable. I know this is kind of a personaly opnion type of question but input would be nice as to which you personally would do and why

2.3 or 2.4. u can run a gigantic turbo and still be streetable in terms of spool

I'm going stroker. Unless you are serious about drag racing, I would go this route. You'll have a power band that you'll use more as a daily driver and with all that extra air flow, as crunchymilk55 said, your turbo will spool alot quicker. This will give you way better bottom end.

Yeah dude, I would do a 2.3. I am, however going to do stock rebuild. Stock bottom ends can take more power than I will be putting down so I cant justify spending $1000 more for the stroker. My plans are as follows. Get a 1g, stock rebuild on the bottom end, FP2 or FP2x cams, dual springs and TI retainers, a SBR 50 trim, cheater juice, DSM link, and all the other stuff, basically my goal is a high revving 2.0.

why not a high reving 2.3 liter? aslong as the roating assembly is ballenced well and your head is spewing titanium out the ying yang you should be good for 9k rpm.

It's just not safe to rev past 8000 rpm's on a 100mm stroker DSM. The extra 12mm stroke creates to high of piston speeds.
You won't need high seat pressure dual valve springs for any Comp/Zex cams below FP3's. Even the FP2x cams will run fine on stock springs. When you get into the high lift FP3's and 4's you'll require 90lb seat pressure. But other then that. The stock head with fp2 cams are reliable upto 8500 RPM. If you want to take a set upto 9500 any performance HKS, Crower, Ferria valve components will do. If you think about it. A stroker isn't that expensive. You can get a good used unground crank for $150 if not cheaper. Weisco 2.3L pistons for $350 on ebay. Combined with $40 ARP rod bolts and 1g rods machined to perfection you got a 500hp ready block. assuming everything else is done right and you dont use Clevites new Aluminum bearings.

I've run several of both size motors, and for a street car I'd do a stroker without question. If high reving is a necessity (it's not for a street car) do magnus' long rod stroker. They are going to 9k on those. On my regular rod stroker I had the rev limit set to 8500 and shifted at just over 8k most of the time. When going with a stroker though there are many other considerations to take into account on the rest of the setup though. You wouldn't run a 14b on one since it would practically max out at the stock WGA pressure, but I see poeple do it. Kinda pointless
Get a larger turbo since it will still spool well, and think about the exhaust side as well. The larger displacement gives a 15-20% increase in airflow, so you also need to increase the exhaust flow to accomodate that, and no one seems to think of this in thier buildup. 15-20% more air also means 15-20% more fuel at the same boost, so take that into account as well. So the added cost is not only in the actual stroker parts, but also in the supporting mods. But well worth the effort in my opinion.

Magnus makes that long rod hit 9000 rpm? Nice! I had no idea. Is it too early to add this to my christmas wish list for next year?

If I ever rebuild my motor it's getting the magnus kit. Of course that requires the 2.4 block though, so I'm really not using anything from the old motor but the crank
