I have a 96 Lumina LS that the Camshaft snapped and recently bought a never run 3100 engine that is from a 2000 gm vehicle of some kind (unknown). Other than changing the exhaust manifold from the original engine all appears to be the same.... except.... the wiring harness that is for the fuel injectors and a couple of other sensors. The harness on the 2000 engine has a single "D" connector and the '96 has 2 connectors. Same number of pins. Is there an adapter or do I need to replace the newer fuel injectors/fuel rail for the old ones. I would like to keep as many of the newer parts on the engine as I can. Any info would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks! |

Re: 3100 engine swap
I'd just use the old injector harness on the new engine. The injector connectors are numbered. Odd numbers are the rear injectors, even #'s are the front ones. What other sensors do you have prob's with?
